Before the tears, betrayals, and shocking plot twists — there’s the vocab. And this is where you start.
If you’ve watched even a few episodes of any K-Drama, you’ve probably already heard some of these words. Whether it’s someone shouting “가지마!” (Don’t go!) or whispering “사랑해…” (I love you), this core vocabulary appears across genres — rom-com, thriller, historical, or slice of life.
We analyzed the subtitles from multiple dramas and found the words that appear in all of them. That’s this list.
